Silver Nails Deny Responsibility For Destruction of Leviathan Hunting Ship, Claim Sabotage Was Carried Out By Rogue Element
Doskvol, Akoros - In a shocking turn of events, well known mercenary group the Silver Nails has denied any responsibility for the recent destruction of Lord Scurlock’s flagship, the Inquisitor. The denial comes on the heels of a flyer campaign that claimed the Nails had destroyed the Inquisitor as retribution for the murder of a relative of one of their members. The flyers began appearing early on the 5th of Ulsivet, and proclaimed that the Leviathan hunting vessel was destroyed because “he [Scurlock] needs to face retribution for the murder of Amosen Daava.” The flyers were signed on behalf of all of the Silver Nails. At time of writing, Mrs. Daava’s murder is still unsolved, and the Inquisitors could not be reached for comment.
Today, Suresh Adilla, long-time leader of the Nails, issued the following statement: “The Silver Nails categorically deny any involvement with the destruction of Lord Scurlock’s flagship, the Inquisitor. The Nails have a long-standing history of working with Lord Scurlock, including serving under his command during the battle of Blackvale. We believe that Tovanii Daava, Amosen’s brother, is the likely culprit of this malicious act, and while he was once a member of our group, we have excommunicated him and cut all ties. If any of our members find him they will turn him in to the authorities immediately. Leviathan Hunting is the lifeblood of Doskvol, and we would never do anything to jeopardize the collection of such an important resource.”
When reached for comment regarding the investigation of the sabotage, Captain Carl Tobino of the Bluecoats said that “the investigation was still in progress” and that they had “questioned several suspects” but had yet to speak with Tovanii Daava. Tobino urged Daava to turn himself in for a more lenient sentence. Tobino also stated that his personal view was that the sabotage was “an isolated incident” and not the work of an organized terrorist group.
